Years ago ScannerMaster sold an internal battery pack system for the
BC780XLT. It included a charger circuit that automatically charged the
battery when you plugged in the power adapter and a status light to tell
you the charge status of the battery. Since the 780 has long been
discontinued in favor of several new series of radios most accessories are
no longer available.

The battery used was similar to that used in RC cars, 12 VDC and would run
the radio at medium volume for several hours (up to 10 or so for mine).

Anther thing to remember was that when the 780 came out there was no
comparable handheld scanner so the battery pack was more in demand. Now it
is a lot easier just to buy a matching handheld instead of reinventing the
wheel.

The BC346T does everything a 780 and a whole lot more did for about $200,
all in a handy handheld package.

If you have come here to find out about the Uniden BC-780 you have come to
the right place! In fact the discussion of the BC-780 is the only
acceptable topic on this list. Please. I hope this is clear to all group
members.
