*Programming the Uniden BC780XLT for Dummies*
A.Programming Conventional System Frequencies.
1.Press <Manual>.
2.If you were in the trunking mode, press <Trunk>.
3.Select the channel you wish to program by using the up or down arrow keys.
4.Press <Manual>.
5.Enter in the frequency desired.
6.Press <E>.
7.To program another channel, press the up or down arrow key to advance
to thatchannel.
8.Go back to step A5 and repeat the steps.
9.When finished, press <SCAN>.
B.Programming Trunked System Frequencies.
1.Press <Menu>.
2.Press select Trunk Data & press <E>.
3.Select the Bank you wish to program by using the up or down arrow keys.
4.Press <E>.
5.Press select Trunk Type & press <E>.
6.Select the type of system this is. See manual for a list and
explanation if needed.
7.Press <E and hold button in until you hear 2 beeps >.
8.Press menu 3 and press manual. This will back you up to the channel
you wish to
program.
9.Go to the channel you wish to program by using either the up or down
arrows, or bydirect entry. You may need to exit the trunked mode and
return to conventional
mode by pressing <trunk>.
10Enter the frequency desired.
11.Press <E>. (You should see the word Trunk above the frequency.)
12.Press and hold the <TRUNK> button for two seconds. You should here
two beeps.
13.To program another channel, Select the next channel you wish to
program by usingthe up or down arrow keys.
14.Go to step B9 and repeat the steps.
15.When finished, press <Search>.
16.The BC780XLT will scan the frequencies you entered, and find the one
that is the system data channel.When if finds the data channel, the
BC780XLT will lock ontothe system and you will start to hear activity
and see Talk Group (T/G) codes.
C.To Program a Custom List of Trunk System Talk Groups to Scan.
1.Press <MANUAL>.
2.Use the up or down arrow keys to go to the slot you wish to enter a
Talk Group(T/G) code.
3.Enter the T/G code you desire.
4.Press <E>.
5.To program another T/G code, Go to step C2 and repeat.
6.When finished, press <SCAN>.
