A bit too complicated to explain in an email. Procedures are different
for conventional vs. trunked frequencies. Here is one link, but there
are other sources as well...

a better plan might be to get a serial/usb cable that will get you from
your PC to the scanner, and get a free software program such as bctool that
will allow you to program with little effort.


You will also need the drivers for the cable connection which I believe you
can find free online also
