Hello All,
New to the group and thanks in advance. I have read numerous posts about our
volume knobs breaking and well mine was a legitimate break. Unit went right
off the table and 'landed' on the volume button.I was able to bend the post
back, but the knob is shattered. Uniden says they no longer stock this knob
but seems it is the same part # GNBZ345897Z for the 780, 785 and 796. Has
anyone put on a compatible knob that recesses in the squelch knob and look
decent? I cannot find any other outlet that may have this part number out
there. Once I can get this squared away, I'll be looking for some
programming advice on the next post.
Thanks in advance for any feedback - Jeff

I've actually had the problem with the VFO / SELECT knob which is different from the volumn.  Anyone know of a replacement for that?  Out of 8 BC780's I have, I've broken the VFO knob on 2 of them....but I've had them for 10 years, use them 7 days a week and they're on 24/7, excellent scanner.....only weakness is the knobs after time...
