ubc780xtl no audio problem

Hi and thanks for reading.

I have a uniden ubc 780xlt trunkmaster 3 scanner with no audio from either main speaker or ext spk.

I have checked the leads and ribbon cables and all seem ok.

and before someone sujests that have i tried the squelch then the answer is yes!!!

This leads me to believe that the audio chip has gone or is it the audio amplifier ??? or is it something more sinister than that.

Does anyone know the audio chip number if it is it or has anyone had the same problem as me and knows the fix solution
